Tobi Wong is a master of turning what at first seem to be utilitarian objects into clever new luxury items that always have a deeper meaning than what is obvious at the surface.
A wonderful example is this gorgeous black brooch. Intended to be worn over the heart, at first it seems like nothing spezial – unless you consider a black rose something special. But this spezial bloom is made of heavy duty ballistic nylon, turning it into a high-tech talisman for the tender hearted and a wry fashion statement.
